A 3-day safari in Kruger National Park is the ideal introduction to Africa's most iconic wilderness.
Day 1: Arrival & Southern Kruger
Route: Johannesburg → Numbi/Phabeni Gate → Lower Sabie
Depart Johannesburg early for the 4-5 hour drive. Enter through Numbi or Phabeni Gate and begin your first game drive along the H4-1 towards Lower Sabie. Watch for elephant herds, hippo pods, lions and buffalo.
Settle into Lower Sabie Camp overlooking the Sabie River.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drives
Sunrise Drive (5:30 AM) — Prime time for predator sightings
Big 5 Hotspots:
- Lion: Roads around Satara and S100
- Leopard: Along the Sabie River
- Elephant: Near water sources
- Buffalo: Southern plains
- Rhino: Southern section
Midday Rest — Return to camp 11 AM – 3 PM
Afternoon Drive (3:00 PM) — Head towards Mlondozi Dam
Day 3: Northern Push & Departure
Final Sunrise Drive (5:30 AM) Head north towards Skukuza along the H4-1.
Departure (10:00 AM) Exit through Paul Kruger Gate.
