Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Cape Town International Airport. The airport is roughly 20 minutes from the city centre (longer in traffic). Check into your accommodation — the V&A Waterfront area is the best base for first-timers, with the harbour, restaurants, and Table Mountain views on your doorstep.
After settling in, stroll the V&A Waterfront — it is one of Africa's most visited destinations for good reason. The harbour, the food market, Zeitz MOCAA (Africa's largest contemporary art museum), and the backdrop of Table Mountain make it a spectacular first impression.
Evening: Drive (or Uber — Cape Town's Uber network is excellent and affordable) to Signal Hill for sunset.
